To you, God. I'm returning to you

To you, God. I'm returning to you.
That's what I think whenever I prepare myself to perform.

My dance teacher has told me that the tikka (the hair adornment I'm putting on in these photos) symbolizes union between a dancer and God. She said, "You're marrying yourself to God."

I interpreted it as a fully committed devotion in life. (It does not have to mean that you become celibate.) I do not have a particular religion to follow. I believe in all. Every religion seems to have nice messages. When I use the word, "God," I don't have a particular figure in my mind. It is not he or she. It is more of a feeling and energy... Whenever I put the tikka on myself, I pray that I could become one with God and dance for God which resides in every person.
